The Citonella oil is obtained by steam distillation from the grass Cymbopogon winteranus. The oil has a  powerful and lemony scent. Its most useful quality seems to be as an insect repellant. Also known to clear the mind, may be useful for headaches and migraines. It is an oil commonly used in fragrances or soaps and candels. china produces aproximately 40 per cent of the total producton followed by Indonesia.
