Savory belongs to the Lamiaceae family, it is a plant native to the temperate regions of the Mediterranean. It is a small semi-green shrub with lanceolate green leaves that tends to grow in height, contrary to thyme and oregano that tend to more expansive growth the savory can easily reach 40cm in height. It can be distinguished well from other aromatic plants not only by its height but also by its small white flowers. It is often used as a culinary spice, it has a fresh, strong flavor, a little spicy and very aromatic. It is a plant with digestive and expectorant properties. It is collected in summer and comes mainly from crops.
