Vetiveria zizanoides is a tall, perennial and scented herb with abundant roots. It is native to southern India and today it can be found throughout the Ecuadorian region. The oil is mainly produced in Haiti and Java. This plant is botanically related to the Lemongrass. The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the washed and dried roots. The oil has a deep, smoky, earthy and woody smell, something sweet in the background. The main component is Vetiverol.
