Piper nigrum is a cultivated perennial climber because of its fruit which is usually dried and used as a spice. The oil is obtained by steam distillation of Piper nigrum dried ripe fruits, mainly in Kerala, India, and it contains a lot of terpenes. This high terpenes content brings unpleasant top-notes to some applications. The Ventós Top-less Black Pepper oil, with a reduction of this fraction, proposes a cleaner black pepper oil which enhances its woody and dry character and increases its tenacity. The solubility of the Top-less Black Pepper oil, is considerably better than that of conventional oils.
